Making soap at home is simple and cost-effective. There are two main methods:
👉 Easy Method (Melt & Pour) – Best for beginners
👉 Advanced Method (Lye Process) – For more natural soap making

🟢 1. Easy Soap Making (Melt & Pour Method)

🧾 Materials Needed:

  • Soap base (available in the market)
  • Coconut oil or olive oil (optional)
  • Essential oil (for fragrance)
  • Color (optional)
  • Soap mould

👉 This method is safe because it does not require lye.


🪄 Steps:

  1. Cut the soap base into small pieces
  2. Melt it using a microwave or double boiler
  3. Add essential oil and color
  4. Mix well
  5. Pour into moulds
  6. Let it cool for 2–3 hours
  7. Your soap is ready 👍

🔵 2. Natural Soap (Advanced Method – Lye Process)

🧾 Materials:

  • Coconut oil
  • Olive oil
  • Lye (Sodium Hydroxide)
  • Water
  • Essential oil

👉 Soap is formed through a chemical reaction called Saponification.


⚠️ Steps (Short):

  1. Slowly add lye to water (never the reverse)
  2. Heat the oils
  3. Mix lye solution with oils
  4. Stir until thick (trace stage)
  5. Pour into mould
  6. Leave for 24 hours
  7. Cut and cure for 3–4 weeks
